7. Nuts & Bolts
The Nuts and Bolts module delivers the essential facts and figures in a motivational talk. It provides the minimum of factual, informational details in order for the presentation to make sense. It might contain visuals, charts, grafts, and quotes that lend support and evidence to the validity of the change you hope to see in your audience members as a result of your talk.
The overwhelming tendency in our current culture is to overload audiences with nuts and bolts. Some nuts and bolts are essential, but very few of them actually get remembered.
It is like when you buy your child a bicycle for Christmas. On Christmas Eve as you take the bicycle out of the box and begin to assemble it, the nuts and bolts are very important because they will hold the bike together. Once they are in place, however, they are the least thing about the whole bike that anyone will see and admire and remember.
